Christmas Traditions

So one of my favorite Christmas traditions is the advent calender. Ever since I can remember we have had some kind of countdown.  When I "grew up" my Mom got us a fancy cabinet for our own homes with 25 tiny little drawers that you fill yourself.  Since I am not getting all my Christmas stuff out this year, this didn't make it so I bought some of the chocolate kind.  Tyler ate the chocolate from the 1st window and hasn't touched it since. He said they are nasty {I agree} so now I have been on the hunt for new ones.  FYI...don't buy the Trader Joe brand.  I couldn't find any so I have now resorted to a bag of candy and handing him one each night and telling him how many days are left.

I was just thinking about this tradition today and how much I love it.  I remember as a little girl, opening up several windows each night.  By about the 10th they were all gone.  I can remember my Mom saying "Natalie! What are you doing?"  She had to have known I loved chocolate as much as her, how could I possible eat just one?  I feel like a little kid this time of year, I just get so excited. I love it so much.  What are some of your favorite traditions?

we always got to open just one present from our parents on christmas eve- and it was always new pjs- so fun! because of football bowl games, though, we were always out of town over christmas, so our traditions were watching movies in hotel rooms, going to sea world and breaking pinatas in hotel hallways... kinda weird!

Nat Snat-Mom and I were just talking about this the other day and laughing about how you used to do that! Inger sends Brielle one of these every year and she LOVES eating it...Cash gave Brielle another one from Harmons that each little peice of Chocolate has 14 grams of fat and 240 calories...are you kidding me? I have not tasted either one...but I bet I know which is better!
