Read it...

So, I know many of you out there have read it but, if you haven't you must. I thought it was all silly talk about these vampire books but, trust me it's not "silly" at all. I just don't know how to wait another year to read the 4th installment. Just had to say it's totally worth it.

Birthday Festivities

Happy Birthday last week! We didn't really get to celebrate Ty's Birthday too much. He had to work late on his actual Birthday so we had a late dinner at Ruth's Chris(very tasty by the way). I wish we could have celebrated more but I got hit by the flu bug late Friday night and pretty much stayed in bed until Monday. Oh well...We'll make up for it this weekend. At least my Mom got him a cake and we were able to do that Monday. So, Happy Birthday Ty! Hope all your Birthday wishes come true.

Pioneer Day

I almost forgot what this Holiday was all about. {Pioneer Day, July 24th-Official Utah Holidy} I was just feeling like it's a great excuse not to work but then I started thinking, this is probably one of the most imprtant Holidays of the year. I am so grateful to all of my ancestors who left their homeland in beautiful England in search of a better life and religious freedom, ending up here in a somewhat desolate land. I think about some of their hardships and wonder how could they have done it? I don't think i'm strong enough to endure what they did. One of my ancestors crossed with the Willie&Martin Handcart Company. She had already lost one of her children on the boat from England to the U.S. and then she lost her husband at the Sweetwater crossing. He had carried so many people across that he literally couldn't walk any further from the frost he suffered. I can't even imagine the heartache, not to mention all the physical hard ships. I go about my days complaining when the air conditioning isn't working or when the water heater runs out of hot water...i'm pretty spoiled. Anyways, I just wanted to pay a tribute to my ancestors and all the pioneers who were so fearless, I am grateful for them.

Harry Potter Review

So, Has anyone braved the crowds and seen this yet? I am curious to know how it is. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth going to see in the theatre or if I should just wait until it comes out? What are your thoughts? Anyone? Anyone?

Oakley Rodeo

Every year for I don't know how many years, my family has been going to the Oakley Rodeo on the 4th of July. It is such a blast. It used to be held in this tiny, podunk arena and now they have this "state of the art" rodeo arena, complete with a mega-screen. Pretty amazing! It such a fun tradition and the 4th will never be the same without it. My favorite part this year was watching Brielle (my neice) go to town with the cotton candy. Tiff had to wipe her down 3 times to get all the sticky off and it still wouldn't come out of her hair.

How could I resist introducing this deluctable treat to such a darling girl? Hopefully her Mom will forgive me. She did tell her you can only buy cotton candy at the Rodeo. Oh the joys of being a favorite(sorry Sarah) Auntie!
